When I was little, I wanted to dress like a princess: long hair, frills, lace, florals, polka dots. That wasn't the girl I was allowed to be. At home I was expected to be more of a tomboy, and in the small towns where I grew up, dressing that feminine made me a target. So I put that version of me away for a long time.

Maple x MapleMatchaa is me bringing her back.

Every piece is designed by me, or inspired by the Japanese fashion of the early 2000s that I always loved from afar, and most are sewn by my mom. Working side by side on this shop has brought the two of us closer than we've ever been, and that means as much to me as the clothes do.

How we make things

Natural fabrics: cotton, linen, and viscose rayon.
Small batches. Each piece is slightly one of a kind, and some are custom dyed to get closer to the original designs.

Why "Maple Matcha"?

Growing up, I wasn't supposed to have my own likes and dislikes. Maple matcha is the drink I make every day: matcha sweetened with maple syrup, that perfect balance of sweet and bitter. It's been my ritual for years, something that was always just mine. It's also my favorite color combination, soft green and brown.

Some people think the name is cringe. I'm proud of it. It's me, showing up as myself and not worrying what anyone thinks.

Every piece I put out has a meaning behind it. I hope you'll love them too.
